Are Timber & Terrain candles non-toxic?

Yes, our candles use only non-toxic, and whenever possible, all-natural and renewable ingredients.

Why aren't T & T candles scented with only essential oils?

We do have one candle that is scented with only essential oils which would be our Lavender scented Renew Aromatherapy candle. The rest of our Renew Aromatherapy line is scented with both essential oils and plant fragrances that work the best for use in a candle based on our testing of many different all-natural fragrances.

Why isn't my candle's scent as strong as I would like?

Fragrance strength can be a surprisingly complex topic. In broad strokes, all of the candles we put out meet our expectations for what a good fragrance strength is for a candle which is to say a noticeable but not overwhelming fragrance presence. Having said that, the desired fragrance strength for a candle as well as sensitivity to fragrance can vary widely from one person to another. In addition, there are a few factors that effect fragrance presence laid out below.

1. The candle is too small for the space that it is in. Our candles work best in closed spaces that are up to 250 sqft. 

2. The room that the candle is burning in is too drafty. Excessive room drafts or excessive room ventilation can remove the candle scents before they are able to be enjoyed.

3. The candle scent is overpowered by other aromas. This can happen due to aromas in the area such as cooking, laundry, or household cleaners.

4. Desired fragrance throw from a candle is subjective. What is a good amount of fragrance for one person may be too weak or too strong for another. While we do our best to find the happy medium in this regard, candle lovers who desire the strongest possible fragrance throw from their candles may want to size up their candle.

Are there care instructions for your cutting and charcuterie boards?

Yes, our cutting boards are made with hand-selected, premium species lumber stock. As with any high-end wood product, in order for your cutting/charcuterie boards to last for many years to come, we highly recommend following the care instructions that you can find those instructions here.

Are your cutting/charcuterie boards finished?

Our cutting boards are finished with organic, food-grade Tung oil.
